Bikram Yoga is affectionately called "hot" yoga by its practitioners due to its ideal setting in heated rooms (target temperature of 104 °F with target humidity of 40%). Bikram's key benefit being the scientifically-supported releasing of certain toxins through the body's ability to sweat.

If you're already a practitioner of Bikram Yoga, you know the drill. But for those of you who are curious but have yet to try this style, remember they call it "hot" for a reason. Here are a few common suggestions from all three schools:

- Dress to sweat! Wear light clothing made from materials suitable for hot conditions.

- Bring plenty of water and a towel.

- Come with an open mind.

- Come "clean" to class, meaning showered and no perfume or cologne.

- Come well hydrated and highly suggested- no food 2-3 hours prior to class.

Now go get your sweat on!
